OK, so as a 4-H mom/leader, I get to come up with all kinds of fun "classes". The class for the month of November was to make your own pumpkin pie filling from scratch......Here is Grant scraping out the seeds.....
Blake thought it was yucky!!
Because time wouldn't allow, I asked the class to bake and de-seed their pumpkins at home, but to bring the seeds and cooked pumpkin to the class, held at Sandy Valley community church. So now they are cleaning their seeds, so we could roast them!!
next, each child had to remove the cooked pumpkin pulp from the skin, and they took turns blending their ingredients in the food processor....a little evaporated milk....
After each kid made their mix, they had to journal the steps they took to make it.Hopefully they will all bake up some homemade pie for Thanksgiving!!!
